Subway observation time. (What's a "subway observation"? In the time I have to ponder things while taking public transit—many Americans may not know what that is—I sometimes have ideas.)

Certain Americans are very (and often justly!) proud of their right to free speech. They are so proud of it they exercise it frequently, whether welcomed/appropriate or not.

Peculiarly they also have the right to remain silent, yet they don't seem to ever exercise that one. 🤭

Three Cherenkov telescopes of the LST class are currently being built on the island of La Palma - one already exists. Eventually there will be four LSTs. With a mirror diameter of 23 meters they specialize in observations of low-energy gamma radiation. Along with several middle-sized telescopes planned for this site, there will be more telescopes of different sizes in Chile. Together, they form the Cherenkov Telescope Array: We 'll keep you posted!

@ctietze @dimsumthinking So this is actually a #SwiftUI + #Observation thing I've been wondering about this week. There doesn't seem to be a replacement for `@StateObject`!
Yes, there is `@State`, but `@State` specifically doesn't have the delayed init behaviour of `@StateObject`. Instead (while the first object in the View state sticks), it gets recreated (and thrown away) on every View refresh.
