Yesterday I made progress combining 2 examples in C on an ESP32 using ESP idf to create a liquid temperature monitor with a small 1306 oled.

Then the frustration started, I wanted to convert a float to a text portion to display it.
Nah error error ….

I save you the frustration but the links I found to help me out did lead other or similar errors.
Probably due to my lack of C knowledge but also curious why such a simple conversion is not simply part of the language or a library

Anyone can share some directions I could use? Apart from learning C of course 🫠

The Ecclesiological Investigations Unit of the AAR invites papers on:

1) Ecclesiologies of Freedom. How does churchly existence intersect with human #Freedom?

2) The #Ecclesiology of Project 2025 and similar versions worldwide. #Project2025

3) #Deconversion or #Conversion to "None". What makes people "deconvert" or reject religious institutional affiliation?

Check it all out!

Just posted an answer to a question about color conversions with thi.ng/color where I'm also talking about CSS color serialization (incl. code examples) of colors defined in newer spaces (e.g. `oklch()`). The library still defaults to CSS Color Level 3 for CSS serialization, but L4 is supported too[1] and depending on color space and target is always picking the path of least conversions needed:

[1] Is it maybe safe and time to default to L4 already by now? (already been supporting since early 2023...)

thi.ng/colorArray-based color types, CSS parsing, conversions, transformations, declarative theme generation, gradients, presets

Updated, simplified example, and fully commented now! New library releases later today... (Still checking what else might need to be done for updating the thi.ng/geom-axidraw package to support complex polygons and paths with holes/sub-paths... Adding support for these shape types has been quite a large, multi-package update, but long overdue...)

New demo (and last new test case) for the upcoming thi.ng/geom release (and related packages): Here parsing a SVG path, converting to an SDF, deforming the SDF and sampling/converting the SDF back into SVG at multiple contour levels... all in just a few lines of code!

(Ps. I will add more comments to the example tomorrow...✌️)

Very touched tonight by the Shabbat service I'm watching via zoom (from Temple B'nai Israel of #Oklahoma City) --- the Torah reader tonight it someone who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his conversion.

While it is not traditional to ever speak of a person's conversion, I personally like what is happening tonight because it is assuming that conversion is something to be celebrated, not something to be embarrassed about.
