They just keep making the same stupid, flawed, or deceptive arguments over and over again despite these arguments being fully discredited.
And since every new generation joins the web and sees these old arguments *still floating around* you find yourself having the same conversations again and again and again...
It's just so fucking exhausting.
Fox News is telling us that the market doesn't matter.
Under Biden, any tiny downward tick was viewed as the apocalypse, but now the market doesn't matter.
It's almost like those guys aren't serious journalists.

I just think #TheEconomist is #discrediting itself by #platforming #MAGA #bullshit that even 5th graders can callout as #Kindergarten-esque #mobbing.
It's pretty much absurd to do so without seriously interrogating whether the #Trump regime actually knows the shit it does or whether this is just a #dismantling operation by #AgentKrasnov to enshure #Putin gets what he wants.
Tho in the meantime it only resulted in the #EU coming closer together and #Europe finding resolve against #Russia, with both #NATO and EU becoming stronger than before...

I'd begun worrying about the resilience of truth and countermeasures to bullshit particularly online well over a decade ago.
This is an early compilation of heuristics and resources which came up in discussion elsewhere recently, and may be helpful to others.
Among conspicuous omissions, Aristotle's "Sophistical Refutations" (Sophistikoi Elenchoi in the original Greek), one of the earliest recorded (or surviving) guides to countering bullshit:
DEI initiatives were all #performative #bullshit anyway. Really heavy on crafting a public image, with plenty of internal and external #propaganda and #marketing. #Target is not interested in actually supporting marginalized communities, just increasing profits.
The annual #pride stuff was the epitome of it. They only sold Pride goods in June but never year round. When right wingers put pressure on them for it, they folded like empty soda cans in a 24 ton hydraulic press.
